Nearly fifty years ago, Dr. Myers pioneered intravenous vitamin therapy as a treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome. Intravenous therapy has also long been a common medical practice for treating dehydration and many other conditions. Recently, IV therapy has become a mainstay in the out-of-hospital setting.
Brent Russell MD is board certified in Emergency Medicine and designs specialized drips to rejuvenate active individuals and to promote optimal well-being. Intravenous therapy improves dehydration, fatigue, headaches, jet lag, altitude sickness and hangovers. We also have drips that promote health, boost energy and increase athletic functioning.
IV therapy delivers vitamins, electrolytes and fluids directly into the bloodstream via an IV catheter allowing for 100% absorption. When administered the vitamins are bioavailable for the body to process and utilize immediately. This provides your cells with ample vitamins to replenish your body.
There are many benefits to IV therapy. IV therapy can aid in recovery, prevent and improve dehydration, boost energy, alleviate hangovers, help with altitude sickness and promote overall well-being.
All individuals who want to optimize their health and well-being. Individuals who have a medical history of heart failure or edema (swelling in legs) are not eligible for IV therapy. Also individuals with a current diagnosis or history of cancer may not be good candidates for NAD therapies. Elevated Hydration’s medical team reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to deem any client unfit for IV therapy and withhold services based off their provided medical history.
Elevated Hydration requires all individuals to be 18 years or older to receive IV therapy. If you feel like your adolescent would benefit from IV therapy we recommend reaching out to their primary care provider to further discuss.
All Elevated Hydration’s IV therapies are administered and monitored by registered nurses. Elevated Hydration’s services are overseen by a board certified MD.
Individual pain tolerance varies, but they feel like a slight pin prick and are well tolerated by most. We use small IV catheters to limit the discomfort and provide as comfortable experience as possible.
You arrive at our office or we will come to your home. You are required to fill out a brief medical history form and informed consent for IV therapy. If you have no significant medical history and meet our protocol for administering IV therapy the nurse will begin the infusion process. This involves a nurse placing a small IV catheter into your vein and attaching it to the IV tubing. The nurse will then begin your infusion. Most of our infusions take between 40 and 50 minutes. They can take longer depending on arm position, catheter position and size of veins.
We recommend everyone eat a hearty meal before having IV therapy, especially NAD. We also recommend you do not drink the night prior to an NAD infusion. We do offer hangover therapies to help you recover if you did overindulge.
It depends on the drip and your goals. We recommend individuals use IV therapy when you are feeling depleted and run down. It’s a great way to give yourself a boost and rejuvenate. If you’re really depleted sometime a couple drips over a week or two are necessary to get you back to normal. You can also use our vitamin drips as a monthly multivitamin boost. The immunity booster drips are great to utilize during cold and flu season on a regular basis (bimonthly-monthly) or when feeling an illness coming on. All our drips are great for recovery and rejuvenation.
Most of the supplements we use are naturally found in the body and required for cellular function. Since they are natural occurring there are very little side effects associated with them. There are some risks with IV placement such as infection, phlebitis, bruising and swelling around the IV site. These are uncommon, but possible. We encourage everyone prior to starting a course of therapy to consult their primary care provider. We also are happy to answer any additional questions.
Elevated Hydration does not accept insurance for any of our services. We do accept HSA payments.
